Superglue
(cyanoacrylate cement)

Ron
Ufkes, a woodturner, supplies superglue (cyanoacrylate cement)
to the turners in his group. By buying it in quantity, he
is able to get it at a good price and has offered to furnish
it to any wood carvers who may be interested. The following
are available:
50 cps - Thin for hairline cracks or stabilizing
soft areas of wood.
100 cps - Medium Thin for filling .005"
gaps
300 cps - Medium
700 cps - Thick for filling larger gaps
and bonding parts
Accelerator - Provides a near instant cure
to superglues. Recommended but not absolutely necessary.
To give
an idea of the viscosity of the glues, water is the basis
used and is classed as 0 cps. Molasses is about 12000 cps.
The
glues are priced at $6.00 per 2 oz. bottle and the accelerator
at $3.50 in a 2 oz. spritzer bottle. If you have your own
spritzer bottle for the accelerator, it is $3.00 per 2 oz.
